How you doin’?!
I know–it’s the same old excuse but it true: I’ve been crazy busy. A lot of travel in the last few weeks with more planned in the near future.
Of note the “JOB!” book was recently recognized as a 2013 Finalist in the Career category by the Next Generation Indie Book Awards. That’s very cool. I’m pleased. I’m also pleased that the book has been finding an audience. Just between you and me Dear Blog–you don’t make money selling books. It’s just my calling card. Nevertheless I want this information out for those job seekers (including the 83% that LinkedIn says are currently employed but seeking new opportunities!) (I’m not surprised at that number–but that’s another post.)
Also of note, much more important–well to me anyway–and something I am personally pleased about–I was in NYC a few weeks back and had the opportunity to meet and interview with Career Reporter/Journalist Vivian Giang of BusinessInsider.com. We actually taped several short segments in their ‘war room’ nestled right in the middle of BI’s journalists and researchers. (You’ll see what I mean when you view the links below.)
And one last thing to mention: I gave notice at HCC-TV that I have taped my last employment talk show for them. We did 33 shows altogether. It was a great experience! I learned how to ‘do’ TV and how to be comfortable in front of a camera. I was responsible for hosting, booking guests, pre-interviewing and prepping them for the appearance as well as writing copy for the show. Except for set/graphics and edit I effectively produced the show. Now I want to finagle my way back into talk radio! Know anyone I can reach out to about that Dear Blog?
