Method

Most people will launch their job search by writing a resume. Rick stands by his statement that you are starting in the wrong place. You begin your job search by first taking a personal accomplishments inventory. You would never think to launch a retail business without stocking the shelves. Why would it be any different when you prepare to sell yourself? (And for those of you who think that job search has nothing to do with sales--quit fooling yourself!)

The accomplishments worksheet

Rick's one-on-one clients know the Accomplishment's Worksheet is not negotiable. This confidence-building, personal and powerful document not only prepares you to create a highly effective resume, it also prepares you for telephone and in-person interviews. And the bonus lies in the fact that by learning the Accomplishments Worksheet you gain a lifelong career-enhancing skill.

The short-form & the traditional resume

One of Rick's 'claims to fame' is his invention of the Short-Form resume. This one-page document is recruiter friendly and designed to successfully navigate resume screening software like no other resume. Know what a "media tease" is? That's when the radio or TV host "teases" you with what is coming up after the commercial break. The Short-Form resume essentially serves the same purpose. Anticipate a recruiter calling and asking for more information. (Remember "You are not looking for a job. You are looking for a phone call!")

The book

To learn much more about Rick's very simple but highly actionable job search concepts get Rick's new book "JOB!" available at Amazon.com or inquire at your local bookstore. ($9.95 retail/$4.99 Kindle download)

NOTE: Although still available on Amazon please do not purchase Rick's first book "Really Useful Job Search Tactics".  The information in that book was revised in The Real Secret to Finding a Job and is further refined in "JOB!"

Testimonial
"As a recent college graduate Rick was able to guide and provide me with the tools to overcome the hurdles of a job market in recession. Prior to working with Rick I had not received any responses from potential employers despite my time consuming efforts. Within two months of working with Rick I had many quality interviews and now have a position I enjoy with a large corporation. This would not have been possible without Rick's expertise."
